Period American Empire Crotch Mahogany Sideboard Jelly Press

This is a period American made jelly cabinet or sideboard from around 1840. It’s constructed of the most beautiful crotch mahogany veneer over pine secondary. The cabinet is constructed using pin cut dovetails everywhere there is a joint even though most you can’t even see. This was a time period where deadlines were not the issue and when quality craftsmanship was at the fore. It’s hard to describe how this baby looks in person so I have to let the pictures tell the tale. It’s been restored by us to the highest degree possible and needs nothing but a home. It’s sizable and very substantial in weigh measuring: 58″ wide, 50″tall, 23″ deep. The backsplash is for sure original and you simply have a few screws and you can take it off if you like, we finished it all around so there are no voids.
